These photos were taken in July 1992 during a student immersion trip. Jen went with several other volunteers, hosted by the Association for Rural Development, and they toured several development projects each morning, and learned Krio at a language workshop each afternoon. The photos are more a remembrance of the time right after the NPRC came into power, when people everywhere were showing their pride in Salone.

Snapshots

Young boys "fix" the road to
our guest house and demand
leones for their snap

The way the outskirts of Makeni
town looked...peaceful and lush

Our immersion group takes a tour of
TEKO, an agricultural and textile project.

We were impressed by the
green of the bush, the red of
the dirt, and the sheer drop
off on the side of the road!
